Applestump Records began its journey in Nantwich, emerging from humble beginnings during lockdown. The shop was founded by Steve and Dani, who started out with just a small selection of distributor-bought LPs. What began as a simple offering with click-and-collect and local delivery soon captured the imagination of the local music community. The early days saw Applestump Records popping up at Miss Marmalade’s café for weekend events, providing a space for music lovers to gather and explore records together. The popularity and support from the community eventually led to the opening of a permanent shop on Barker Street. Over time, Applestump Records established itself as an integral part of Nantwich’s music scene, even sponsoring The Cat FM’s “Like Clockwork” show to help promote new music in the area. In September 2025, the shop moved to a larger and more central location at 4 Oatmarket, offering expanded space for their growing activities and further cementing their presence in the local landscape.
