UK Record Shops that participate in Record Store Day

Record Store Day is the UK’s biggest annual celebration of independent record shops, when almost 300 participating stores across the country come together for a proper “day out” built around music discovery, community, and the thrill of the hunt. Originally sparked by a gathering of US shop owners in 2007, the first official event took place on April 19, 2008, and it’s now marked by thousands of stores worldwide—alongside the UK’s own official organisers and shop network. What makes Record Store Day special is the mix of exclusive vinyl releases pressed specifically for the occasion, plus the in-store atmosphere: signings, DJ sets, live performances and local collaborations that turn shops into mini-festivals. Stock is limited and typically first-come, first-served, and shops generally aren’t allowed to reserve RSD titles—so planning matters: shortlist the stores you want to visit, check opening times and any queue guidance, and contact shops in advance to see what they’re likely to stock (not every shop can carry every release). Use the list below to find every Record Store Day-participating shop, then plan a route that suits your music taste, travel time, and the kind of day you want—quick hit for a single title, or a full-on crate-digging circuit.
