Wax and Beans is Bury’s only independent record store, located in a beautiful Grade II listed building at the heart of the town’s Culture Quarter. Owned by partners Ben and Louise, the shop is the realisation of Ben’s 25-year dream—a space that uniquely blends music retail with a welcoming coffee shop atmosphere.
The store offers a curated selection of new and pre-owned vinyl, music merchandise, and serves quality coffee and food, creating an inclusive environment for all. Whether visitors are crate-digging, enjoying a drink, meeting friends, working on school projects, or simply soaking in the music and vibe, Wax and Beans provides a space for connection and community. Dogs are warmly welcomed too—including Luna, the shop’s much-loved resident pup.
Spread over two floors, the shop features a listening station where customers can preview any secondhand vinyl through headphones before purchasing. Regular in-store events include live performances, artist meet-and-greets, signings, and Q\&A sessions, further establishing Wax and Beans as a cultural hub.
All new vinyl in stock is also listed on the shop’s website, with online ordering available. For titles not currently stocked, the team can order any available new release through their network of UK distributors.
