What a little gem of a shop this is. And what a friendly, knowledgeable owner too. The stock is fantastic. Especially his Grateful Dead Collections. I'll definitely be using this place again.
A great collection for sale, both records, tapes and CDs (OK that's not 'both' but 'many'...). Prices range from a whole quid for basic/common/not worth much CDs up to "What?!" for rare box sets/collectables (that's not the owner's fault, some stuff really does go for £silly) and in here you can be sure it is a decent price, not some rip-you-off amount. Highly recommended, and the owner is (at times) almost impossibly knowledgeable* - a real asset and fount of info, both trivial and essential! *This is meant as high praise, not taking the Michael...!
Vinylfinders is the BEST record store in the UK (and anywhere for that matter) because it is cared for by staff and owner that are knowledgeable and sincerely care about music, both popular and obscure. Massy Ferguson was touring in the UK and they had us perform at a block party that was utterly amazing and treated us so well, took good care of us, and let us indulge our inner vinyl-nerdiness. We had as much fun talking records with Paul and the gang as we did rocking the crowd at the block party. Highly recommend!
I've officially found my favourite record shop in North West. So many amazingly priced new and used CDs of all genres. Its particularly great for Alternative Country stuff and I was delighted to see an impressive entire Alt Country section I have been going record shopping with my daughter and don't ordinarily find much to inspire me but I spent ages in here just browsing the CDs and records and had a great afternoon. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and are willing to do offers on things. I loved the music they play, too and there was a friendly atmosphere.
Visited this amazing hidden gem last Thursday and boy what a vinyl experience. I could have broken the bank. Spent as much time talking to owner as I did looking through the vinyls. Picked out a few gems which were very reasonably priced. As I said to the owner a few may just appear on my Radio Northwich 80’s show. If you’re into your vinyl do not visit Southport without calling into Vinylfinders.
