Visited this store with my son today for the first time today unfortunately in Nottingham we don't have too many independent record stores. I really liked the combination of new and used records and the prices were very reasonable. The store was well merchandised and it was easy to navigate. All positive. The only negative I can level is that as a first time visitor I did not feel welcome the word that comes to mind is surly. I don't expect customer service as it used to be " in the old days" but a little smile and a word of thanks when I am parting with my well earned cash would be appreciated.... it's a shame really because I really liked the shop and I would prefer to shop at independents but the CS has put me out.
Alright, buckle up, vinyl junkies! I just dove headfirst into a treasure trove of wax and came out grinning like a Cheshire cat. Popped into this place today, and BAM! Vinyl heaven. New, old, the works! Felt like I'd stumbled into a musical time machine. Had a proper chinwag with the owner – total music guru, knew his stuff inside out, even dropped some juicy industry gossip about the legends. (Dang it, brain fart, forgot his name! Note to self: remember the name next time!) Anyway, I was on a mission for Carole King's "Tapestry" (£6, bargain alert!). And guess what? He had a killer second-hand copy chilling upstairs. Like a vinyl ninja, he swooped in, rescued it, gave it a once-over, and then whipped out the real cleaning gear – meths, baby! Forget your fancy isopropyl mixes, this guy knows the real deal. Seriously, if you're a vinyl fiend, get your booty down there. You're guaranteed to unearth a gem. Trust me, your ears will thank you!
What a place for Newark and anyone who loves the Vinyl. Went in with my daughter and the owner is very helpful and engaging. It’s the most professional shop of this kind I have been in and I lived in Brighton for 10 years. It’s cool but this guy knows his onions. I wanted some Juke Box records for in my bars machine and when I put my selection on the counter he advised that maybe some wouldn’t work in a cosy bar. He has some rare gear. This is what I live in Newark we are evolving and this is a great place. I think though he is proper old school as I am not sure he likes the work of a two brother band from Manchester who I won’t name Cheers x
Had a wonderful experience buying vinyls from here for the first time today. I was quite nervous and out of my element having never really dabbled in vinyl but instantly fell in love when I spotted a Paramore one and the person serving was absolutely fantastic at helping me locate some more. The shop has a lovely cozy vibe and I can't wait to return and pick up some more records! Highly recommend anyone dropping in a supporting this wonderful business.
The owner tells you he has 4 copies of this, 3 copies of that, mint copies of records that you want and sealed rare records but when you ask to see them they're not in the shop. He agrees to bring them in but they never materialise. I believe he owns the largest collection of non-existent records in the country!
