Music Is The Answer

By far my favourite vinyl shop in the Midlands! Always new used stock coming in. Great for digging in the boxes for unusual finds. John and Simon are top blokes and not pretentious like many record shop owners.

Really helpful staff who really understand the function of a record shop. To me, the important thing about record shops is that they’re a welcoming space to come chat about music and to be part of the greater community. A place where people can congregate, meet a friendly local face, and know they’ve got somewhere to go where people are glad to see them. Chatting to the staff here, they get that. In addition to this, this place stocks some stuff you’re less likely to find in other shops around. It’s got a good range. They also offer a record flattening service, to attempt to fix warped records (results may vary), which is a really helpful option to have in the city. Certainly can’t afford my own flattening machine! If you’re going to visit, it’s conveniently located right outside Yardley Wood train station, just a few stops south on the train from the city centre (Moor Street station) and a few north of some lovely local walks (Earlswood, The Lakes). So it can fit nicely on a worthy Brum exploring itinerary.

Great shop very friendly and superb record cleaning service. Bagged a real bargain. I look forward to visiting again
