Music in the Green

I had the loveliest conversation with the man behind the counter (I really regret not asking for his name) and in such a brief amount of time in a dialogue about music, after I showed him a list on my phone of vinyls I want, he recommended an album to me I have fallen head over heels in love with. He knows his stuff! And at no point did I feel like he was trying to sell me anything - just a man who loves music and I could certainly learn a few things from. Couldn’t recommend more - definitely pop in for a chat if you’re looking for new music or some lovely vibes :))

Great shop called in today but forgot my glasses ...the owner lent me his . Fantastic mix of original and repress, very competitively priced.. loads of stock across all genres. Owner was very helpful, knowledgeable and open to a deal. Will be going again soon but need to remortgage or sell a kidney as I could have spent a fortune in there lol

This is by far one of the nicest record shops I’ve been into the person who served me a man with a beard was really nice and answered all my questions. I only collect a certain type of records mainly limited edition presses and original presses. I was in a bit of a rush that day And he had no problem answering all my questions and even getting out records he was suggesting to me that he thought I would really like ended up buying two really good records from there for a very good price for what they are very happy with my experience here and anyone who collects records I would highly recommend coming here. This is a good place to spend your money I definitely will be returning sooner than later

I was visiting Bakewell with my wife and fed up of all the crowds and wanting to go home when I came across this fantastic shop. I am a massive Bowie fan for over 50 years and have a good collection of his records. I found a rare American import album from 1974 in mint condition. Told the owner I would be back later on to buy it from him and would he like me to pay for it then, I didn't want to carry it around in the crowds the wife was still shopping, he said no problem I will put it aside and pay him on my return. Which I did, the owner is a really nice friendly guy and I will go back again but next time without the wife.

We have visited this shop for years and years often buying a record or 2 however today when we visited as avid vinyl collectors we were met by a very rude lady, as when visiting all record shops we check prices etc online. The lady in the shop proceeded to ask us if we do this at the supermarket. Obviously we said yes doesn’t everyone check prices??? We selected a few records we wanted to buy coming to about £200. The lady proceeded to tell us how rude we were! I explained we run our own business as electrical contractors and provide quotes as people do, no one buys something nowadays without price checking first! She was having none of it making us feel that uncomfortable we left. We noticed all the other customers in the shop left while we put back the records we was going to purchase. When we got outside a man that was in the shop with us approached us and said how he agreed the lady had an attitude problem and that’s why he left the shop. On previous visits to this shop we were always served very politely by a gentleman. We shall definitely never return to this shop. Good luck anyone who is expecting customer service as there is none !
