Level Crossing Records was founded in 2018 by Mark and his wife Luisa in Sheen, born from a lifelong passion for music and a love of coffee. As a longtime record collector and musician, Mark had always dreamed of opening a record shop. Inspired by his growing interest in coffee culture, the concept evolved into a unique combination of a record store and espresso bar.

After years of training as a barista and searching for the perfect location, the pair launched the shop with a focus on quality—partnering with small-batch specialty coffee roasters and proudly serving Dark Arts Coffee. Known for their imaginative approach, Dark Arts describe their process as “alchemy” combining fire, water, and magic beans sourced from around the world.

Since opening, Level Crossing Records has become a vibrant community hub where regulars feel like extended family. The shop offers an eclectic mix of music, reflecting both Mark’s tastes and those of the local community. There’s a strong emphasis on discovery, with staff always ready to share knowledge and recommendations, helping customers explore both new and classic sounds.

At its core, the ethos of Level Crossing Records celebrates the analogue experience—whether it’s the tactile pleasure of vinyl or the slow ritual of brewing espresso. The goal is to provide a space where people can pause, connect, and enjoy great music and coffee in equal measure.

Found this place by chance during summer and had an amazing iced latte. Went back today and again had such a good cappuccino - well prepared, right size, very balanced and tasty. To me, this is the best coffee in London at the moment. Definitely worth a visit!
What a cool place to have a coffee and pastries! They have Vinyls of all genres placed immaculately like old school record shops. It reminded me of my younger days working for Virgin Records. Their coffee is one of the best I have had in Sheen. Their unique choice of pastries are tastilicious!! Customer service from Mark and Louisa was 5 stars. Health and safety due COVID-19 was implemented with clear signs. You will not be disappointed when you walk in!
Hands down my favourite place to get coffee in London, a cafe that combines the best of music with coffee. Mark, Luisa and Josh are the nicest people you could ever meet, with an amazing taste and music, can’t go wrong asking for recommendations! They make the perfect cup of flat white and host Record Store Day on the regular
Mark didn't initially have the LP I was looking for but swiftly ordered it in and treated me to a free coffee on pickup! I look forward to returning
Fantastic coffee!! Worth commuting via Mortlake to get! Also a record store its got a great vibe, attracting record enthusiasts who chat about music over a coffee, such a fab little spot!
