Honest Jon’s is a British independent record shop based on Portobello Road in Ladbroke Grove, London, operating since 1974. Owned by Mark Ainley and Alan Scholefield, it was originally founded by “Honest” Jon Clare. It also runs a record label in partnership with Damon Albarn, releasing acclaimed compilations like the “London Is the Place for Me” series that documents post-war immigrant music scenes in London. Not your same old record store. They do what they do extremely well. Don't go expecting to see much rock, but the genres they specialise in are well covered with interesting and hard to find records. Their pricing is very reasonable - I saw some records that were 5-6 quid more expensive at another London specialist store. Recommended.
London's best record shop for jazz, soul and funk. Incredibly clean inside and a pleasant aroma. Usually vinyl stores have a specific smell of old items. This store is at a high level. The collection is very impressive!
Excellent vinyl shop, it's not huge but there is a fantastic selection, helpful staff, reasonable prices and generally a great vibe.
