This eclectic record store offers a diverse mix of new and pre-owned vinyl alongside an extensive CD collection, with a particular strength in classical and baroque music. The shop maintains a steady rotation of fresh inventory at competitive prices, making it a go-to spot for music enthusiasts in the Brighton area. While the atmosphere can be described as charmingly chaotic, it’s a treasure trove for those willing to dig through the stacks and explore different genres.

Vinyl selection is mainly overpriced junk. Lots of CDs if that's your thing
I asked if they were interested in buying classical music on vinyl. ‘Yes’ was the answer. I said I had a lot. ‘Bring them in a few at at time.’ So I did. The older guy dismissed them without even looking. So I asked ‘why did you tell me to bring them in then’? Twice I asked. No answer. The older guy called me ‘my dear’ and then ‘my darling’. Patronising and sexist. Won’t be going in there again to buy or sell.
A wonderful chaotic mix of used and new music. Always friendly and helpful. Many treasures to discover. I look forward in visiting the shop every time I come to Brighton.
Great store, great atmosphere and friendly and knowledgeable staff. A wide range of CDs and Vinyl - almost heaven.
The best record/CD shop for Classical, Baroque, Early music (and other genres!) in the Brighton area. Ever changing throughput of used CDs at great prices, excellent stock of new CDs and SACDs as well as fast, reliable ordering of anything available. Friendly, knowledgeable owner and staff. Recently I moved from central Hove to somewhere quiet on the other side of Brighton. I don't miss the traffic, I don't miss living near several language schools, I don't miss the sirens of emergency vehicles. I find I really do miss living near Fine Records!
