I was in the shop Saturday a true experience Paul a really knowledgeable guy. Yes it is cramped but thats part of the beauty if you enjoy crate digging this is the shop for you and Paul's prices are fair and reasonable. I spent a thoroughly enjoyable few hours in there and walked away with some jem's
A treasure trove of music from past decades and such a knowledgeable owner who was happy to help me find good quality second hand albums and explained what features made them more collectible. Just give yourself plenty of time to explore - there’s a lot crammed in there!
Paul was very helpful , he helped find something I wasn't expecting to find and played it in-store to help make sure it was what I thought. i hope to return again soon.
Had a recent visit. Found some decent stuff, but it's so difficult to browse. There's no room to move and everything's just piled, virtually no organisation. Very overwhelming. Had to call it a day before I was really done looking. A lot of things not priced and owner seems to make prices up for them on the spot. He even kept the battered record sleeve protector!
This is one of the best record shops I've been too and certainly the best in the local area. Aside from having an extensive selection of jazz, rock, punk, pop, blues, 60s, 70s and 80s music etc, the owner, Paul Despy, is also a top guy, really knows his stuff and you could happily and easily strike up a conversation about music with him. I do get the impression I'm one of the younger people who come here but I'd recommend people of all ages with any interest in music to have a look.
