I love this place, the staff are so nice and helpful and they hold some of the best music events of the year. I have had multiple deliveries as well which have all arrived in perfect condition and quickly. Highly recommend this record shop
Bought a number of records from this shop over the past few years and their service is unrivalled. Everything always arrives in perfect condition, on time and for an exceptional price. They’re always my first stop for new and exclusive releases. Keep up the amazing work!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely lovely in store experience, and their gigs are ace - I attended the unplugged Offspring gig a few years ago and it remains one of my favourite experiences. However, their online sales and associated customer service aren't up to scratch, and it is a stain on their otherwise brilliant record. They don't have the systems in place to keep online stock updates accurate (it might say "in stock" online but that doesn't mean it is... If it isn't, you will have to wait until it is.) It seems a bit inconsistent how they handle the large volumes of orders they get. Preorders of popular releases for example, even with special delivery (or tracked 48 it turns out... Not a vibe) don't seem to consistently make it out in time for receipt on release day. Many other independent record stores manage to do this... The customer service for online orders is a compounding issue - I've had two issues over the years, and both times it's felt a bit standoffish and unbothered when communicating about it. I've been made to feel like I'm in the wrong and being ungrateful for being disappointed with the lack of communication and not getting my order on time, and previously was only offered a partial refund for a warped vinyl (I gave up with email tennis at that point so didn't even get the refund..) Won't be buying online again and recommend caution to others considering it (especially if you can't go and collect your order in person, and aren't flexible with delivery dates) but would be totally happy to have a flip through should I find myself in Kingston, and recommend making the pilgrimage.
Amazing store for all things vinyl and CD. Staff was very friendly when I asked about stock that I saw they had online. Would recommend going in person than the website.
Banquet keeps Kingston on the map.The heart and soul of Kingston and the institution partly responsible for keeping this towns creative culture ALIVE. Been coming here for over 10 years. They also have supported local acts in the past. Queues for instores have got longer, but that’s not surprising as it’s gained popularity and Banquet has grown with it. Far more than a record shop and venue .
